I went for a walk down at the wildlife sanctuary today. I went early enough that it was mostly deserted; it was, for the most part, just me and the birds. I had hoped to see some deer again, but I didn't see *any* animals, and few tracks. Even the birds, though vocal, kept hidden ( Read more... )

I was up before dawn this morning, possibly due to indigestion. The world was eerily quiet; I don't think we realize how much ambient noise there is until it is gone. This being Imbolc, I've decided that I've had quite enough of winter and I'm taking off for warmer climes. I have just enough in my checking account for a ticket to New Mexico, so off I go to join an artist's colony in Taos.
